MordeTwi is the combined ship name of the characters Mordecai from Regular Point and Twilight Fizz from My Smallish Shot glass: Friendship Is Magic. The duad was initiative shipped in 2012, all but notably in a piece of lover artistry depicting the two singing "Airplanes" by B.O.B and longing to make up together.

On October 24th, 2011, The "MordeTwi" DeviantArt[4] group was opened for sharing fanfiction and art about the ship between Twilight Sparkle and Mordecai. The group was inspired by a number of fanfictions[5] including the characters past cartuneslover16, the mathematical group's founder.

In June 2022, the hashtag "#redrawmordetwi" trended happening Twitter, used A a fashio to collect MordeTwi fan art and redraws. 2 popular examples were posted to the hashtag on June 11th, 2022, by Twitter[6] [7] users @falliay and @MoozuaMary, garnering over 1,200 likes each in a year (shown below, left and right respectively).
The tag remained popular over a year later, visual perception a boost in popularity in middle-2021. On July 31st, 2022, Twitter[11] substance abuser @mizphantasm posted a 3D animation of Mordecai and Twilight Sparkle singing to the Airplanes captioned, "actually maybe it's obedient that hayley own't present to get wind this," referring to Hayley Williams of the dance band Paramore, who features on "Airplanes." The tweet gained over 27,800 likes and 4,100 retweets in four days. Connected August 3rd, Williams quote-retweeted[12] the post, writing, "i dont get information technology guys," garnering over 105,000 likes and 17,000 retweets in a day (shown below).
